Pramod Agrawal was born in a small village in the state of Maharashtra, central India in 1975. He belongs to a family with strong social and business background. Pramod has a multidisciplinary educational and research background of more than 13 years in the area of Smart & Functional Textiles, Textile Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, Bio-process Technology & Material Science. Pramod did his bachelor in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Nagpur University with first rank award, a masters degree in Bioprocess technology with honours (Grade A) from the prestigious University Institute of Chemical Technology, (former UDCT), Mumbai. Pramod came to the Netherlands in early 2001 to pursue a PhD research in the field of green processing technologies for European textile sector. After successfully completing his PhD in 2005 from University of Twente, Pramod worked as a project leader / post doctoral researcher in collaboration with more than 25 partners throughout European Union for another 3.5 years. Pramod has an excellent academic career with two international patents as the principal inventor, numerous international publications, and several lectures at international conferences throughout Europe and USA.

Pramod Agrawal is associated with AADHAAR since 2001. AADHAAR is a Hindi word meaning 'foundation' or 'base'. AADHAAR is a non-commercial / non-governmental organisation seeded in 15th August 1997, which provides support for grass roots-level development in India. AADHAAR has more than 125 highly skilled members belong to India, the Netherlands and USA with as mission to EDUCATE, EMPOWER AND EQUALISE. In September 2008, a one-day Industry-Academia meeting and symposium was organised by AADHAAR and Indian students association at University of Twente on “Highly Skilled Indians in the Netherlands”. The event was graced by the presence of a bevy of dignitaries from academia, industry and governmental as well as non-governmental organisations. The key out come of the symposia was that highly skilled Indians should actively support the process of innovation both in the Netherlands and in their motherland, by adopting an entrepreneurial approach.

‘Agrawal-Ecolabs’ is a high-tech consultancy company for textile and related industries - a venture started by Pramod Agrawal since September 2009. Agrawal-Ecolabs provides sustainable and innovative technological solutions in the area of ‘smart textiles, new functionalities, and efficient processes’ supported by our valuable network with multidisciplinary knowledge and state of art R&D facilities. Agrawal-Ecolabs is supported by the University of Twente, Knowledge Centre Design & Technology at Saxion University of Applied Sciences Enschede, and Venturelab Twente – soft landing platform for technology start-ups.
